2013: Spielberg verschiebt Robopocalypse

Steven Spielberg verschiebt sein Filmprojekt Robopocalypse auf unbestimmte Zeit.

Der Science-Fiction-Film, eine Koproduktion zwischen 20th Century Fox und DreamWorks, beruht auf dem 2011 erschienenen Roman von Daniel H. Wilson. Für die Hauptrollen vorgesehen waren Anne Hathaway, Chris Hemsworth und Ben Whishaw.

Drew Goddard, Drehbuchautor von J.J. Abrams‚ Cloverfield (2008) und Drew Goddards The Cabin in the Woods (2012) ist damit beauftragt, das Drehbuch für Robopocalypse zu schreiben. Spielbergs Sprecher Marvin Levy erklärt, das Projekt sei “too important and the script is not ready, and it’s too expensive to produce. It’s back to the drawing board to see what is possible.”
